Pat O'Flynn

Pat O’Flynn

President/CEO 

Pat O’Flynn is a highly successful entrepreneur with over 20 years experience. With an educational background in Engineering. Pat’s career was established in the Pharma Chem industry. Prior to establishing Solvotrin Therapeutics Pat held the position of CEO for AVR- Safeway Limited which he successfully established and built.  Pat has proven success in the management of joint ventures and international collaborations. He is highly passionate about commercialising innovative science to bring true benefit to customers and patients alike.

Mark Ledwidge

(BSc Pharm, PhD, DBS, MPSI, MRSPharms)Vice President Development and Strategy 

Mark is a qualified Pharmacist with extensive experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, previously worked with Elan Corporation and Servier Laboratories. He is also a highly successful entrepreneur with a range of business including Pharmacy Prime, The Heartbeat Trust and Cardio Mark. He currently holds adjunct positions as Research Director in the Heart failure Unit at St Vincents University Hospital and Senior Lecturer in the School of Medicine and Medical Science in UCD. He is also Co-Chair of the National Pharmacy Reference Group in Ireland and has been a member of the Expert Advisory Group on Human Medicines for the HPRA. Mark’s experience has been vital to both product development and the strategic development of the Solvotrin business.

Professor John Gilmer

(PhD) Vice President Research & Development 

With a PhD in Steroid Synthetic Chemistry from Trinity College Dublin, John has extensive experience in research & development. He has previously worked with Unimed where he played a lead role in the development and qualification of a new modified release formulation of isosorbide mononitrate and a prodrug. John was named inventor on numerous patent applications in the cardiovascular area.  Since 1998 John has held a position as lecturer in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Trinity College Dublin. He has an active medicinal chemistry research group which has published widely on drug discovery and development. John is an active pharmaceutical development consultant and has participated as an expert in several high-profile pharmaceutical patent trials in the Irish High Court. John brings his expansive research experience to Solvotrin, leading all research and development including a significant number of pipeline assets.

 

 

George Walsh

Chief Financial Officer

George is a highly experienced CFO with over 8-years experience at Executive level. With a Masters in Accounting from The UCD Michael Smurfit Business School and an early career in financial services with Ulster Bank. Prior to joining Solvotrin George held CFO positions at both Euromedic and Epilight where he gained invaluable experience in the Pharmaceutical industry. In addition, George has direct experience of working in the retail pharmacy sector as Head of Finance for the Adrian Dunne Pharmacy Group. This has proven an asset to Solvotrin where George has been instrumental in achieving expansion in the Pharmacy Channel.

Ronan McClafferty

Global Commercial Director

Ronan joined Solvotrin from Pfizer Consumer Healthcare were he most recently held the position of Marketing Director for the Northern European Cluster (UK, Ireland, Netherlands, the Nordics, Russia & CIS). In this position Ronan was responsible for setting and delivering the cluster strategic direction and investment priorities by brand and by market. Ronan joined Pfizer in late 2011 as Country Lead accountable for the Irish Consumer Healthcare Business, he delivered strong growth of 40% over a four-year period in this role and sat on the Board of Directors, Pfizer Healthcare Ireland. Prior to joining Pfizer Ronan spent eight years working in GSK predominately in marketing positions across three categories OTC, Oral Care and Nutritionals.

 

Sinead Cowzer

(BBs Marketing Mgt & BSc Chemistry & Biochemistry) International Marketing Manager

A Senior Marketing Professional with over 20-years experience across the Pharmaceutical and FMCG industries. Sinead joined from LEO Pharma where she held the position of Senior Global Marketing Director managing the $450m Global Topical Psoriasis Portfolio. Sinead also brings here extensive experience at both a European and Global level with 8 years experience working with GlaxoSmithKline working across both their Pharmaceutical and Consumer Healthcare businesses. Sinead is the key marketing contact for all markets.

Coriena Murphy

(BSc Nutritional Science, MSc in Public Health Nutrition) Senior Regulatory and Operations Manager 

Coriena has over 15-years’ experience in the Regulatory and Quality sector within the Food and Consumer Healthcare Industries. Coriena joined Solvotrin Therapeutics from Marigot Ltd., where she held a number of positions including Business Development Manager for Asia Pacific, International Commercial Manager and Quality and Technical Manager. Coriena has extensive experience working with Global Consumer Healthcare companies supporting quality and regulatory submissions. Coriena is  also highly experienced in the management of Food Safety Systems and Regulatory Audits. Coriena is our key contact for Product Development, Regulatory Submissions and Supply Management.

Ian Yates

UK Country Lead

Following 8 years with Cadbury Ltd, Ian joined Pfizer Consumer Healthcare in 2008, where he enjoyed a number of roles across Sales and Marketing, notably Head of Southern Grocers and Head of Pharmacy in the UK. Ian most recently held the position of Marketing Manager for the Northern European region, including Russia, Scandinavia and Netherlands.  In this role he was responsible for the award-winning launch of Nexium Control which has revolutionised the GI OTC category. Ian is our key sales contact for the UK.
